Rita
NATO Weapons, Version 0.45 Intro Welcome to the Rifleman's Guide to Small Arms. This guide is intended to be a reference point for those unsure what weapon to choose. It will cover the ammunition the weapon takes, the weight of the weapon and ammo, as well as a short report on how the weapon handles. This guide is not intended to be a comprehensive report on all the stats of the weapon such as max range, damage over time, or anything like that. It is intended to just give an overview of the weapon. Variants of the rifle will only be covered if there is a significant difference in how the gun works. Feel free to give feedback. Things not covered (yet) Weapons not allowed in FK (Don’t even ask) Opfor weapons, that would be a separate guide. Machine guns. Submachine guns Specialist guns (IE Prophet) Sidearms Launchers Micromanagement figures. Weapons I feel not worth adding. One's that never get used Duplicates of the same weapon that perform worse 6.5mm weapons. Until corrected by a CM or admin 6.5mm are considered in Limbo and will not be reviewed How To Guide I am not responsible for the accuracy of this report Arma is strange when handling body armour. If I hit the chest the Bullet can damage any body part, usually the legs. Shots to incapacitate are not in anyway accurate because Arma is weird. Except when they are because again Arma is weird. All guns will kill someone if you hit the head or chest without armour. Sometimes if you shoot their gut it counts as a headshot. Always double tap At range, you'll probably hit flesh and not body armour Really Weight is the only accurate part Some weapons have weird quirks that make them superior. AP ammo that takes out Helicopters for instance. Some weapons are just crap. This is also accurate I will not do full numbers, arcs of damage or any of that. I do not know how nor want to. Yes, I mention that a lot because someone will complain. It's a really cool guide already. Have fun and give feedback. Attachments A quick note on attachments, they are very rarely effective so ditch them for an extra magazine if you don’t need a laser. Bi-pods are an interesting item, if you are leaning in cover they stable your aim, however, pressing c to go into stable mode is available without them, so the bi-pod is a very situational tool. Worth having cause they look cool. Ammo One of the first topics to cover is ammo and how projectiles work. In the FK Rules for NATO use the allowed ammo types are, 5.56 and 7.62 with a reasonable leeway for one or two rifles. You may see some people using a .300 cal, what that is is 7.62 but a shorter cartridge. So how does a bullet work? This is the simple explanation. You have a projectile with its diameter being the calibre, you then have the cartridge which is full of gunpowder. At the back of the cartridge is a small primer. When the primer is hit with the force of the firing pin it creates a spark, which in turn ignites the powder and propels the projectile out the barrel and towards the bad guy. Bullets are usually given two metric numbers. Projectile diameter x Cartridge length. For example, 5.56x45 has a 5.56mm wide projectile and 45mm long cartridge. For .300 cal the projectile is 7.62 across but the cartridge is shorter than a normal 7.62. 7.62x35 compared to 7.62x31. This means it has less powder and thus less power. It does the damage of a 7.62 whilst being much lighter, but has less power at range. In FK mod set there is a lot of ammo and variants, not every bullet is the same. For example, hollow point rounds expand on impact doing more damage to flesh and less to armour. Armour piercing goes straight through body armour but does less damage to flesh because it goes straight through, or over penetrates. This guide will only cover the difference in ammo types if it is appropriate. It is a rough overview of the weapons, not a micromanagers handbook. Undefined refers to ammunition that has no designation or mod associated with it. For example 5.56mm 30rnd magazine A full guide on ammo numbers can be found here. Assistance Assistance is very much welcome in this endeavour as there are a lot of weapons to cover. Below is a handy guide if you want to contribute a gun or two Verich Has volunteered to do Russian weapons in a different thread. Name(Calibre) Sentence about the rifle Ammo: What ammo it takes Fire modes Weight Empty: Weapons weight with nothing on it. Include variants if a small number. In the case of G36 and AUG each gun is a unique entity for intents and purposes Weight Loaded: Recent updates have fixed the weapon weight issue. Magazine weight is added to the weapon so for the purpose of this guide makes no difference. Magazine Weight: As above Shots to incapacitate: Using 6B13 Armour how many shots to take down the target up to 500m. Using the M150 RCO for all test. In some guns, ammo makes changes to damage. Focus on the main 3, SOST, EPR and SPR for most guns, special cases will be handled on a case by cases basis. Finally, comment on what the weapon feels like. Fire some rounds out move around in the space and see how it feels. Contributors can provide field reports on the weapon and how it feels. Please do not be bias. Comment if you want too, can't make one for every single gun. Rita
Assault Rifles AKA: So many M4 section Magazine Weight: Arma Magazine 0.41 Modded/Undefined Magazine 0.35 TAR-21 An Israeli made bullpup assault rifle, often referred to as IWI Tavor. Ammo: Undefined, M995 AP, MK262, MK318 Single and Full Weight empty: Tar 3.26 CTAR 3.18 Shots to incapacitate: Undefined 2-3 M995 AP 4-7 MK262 2-4 Better Up close MK318 2-3 Pros: Small Powerful Light Controllable Cons: Iron Sights suck Small Poor Range The TAR is definitely a formidable infantry weapon. The weapon is very powerful even against the heaviest Russian Body Armour. Compact design means it handles corners well in CQC, and full auto is super controllable. Its performance at range suffers, so avoid for long range engagements. MRCO Might be best for this gun, it's only a 2x sight but anything outside of that is beyond the TAR's range. The carbine probably has worse range performance but I don't test for that F2000 The FN F2000 Is a Belgium. It has an Iconic look although some versions are uncomfortable to shoot due to Vibrations coming through the cheek rest. Ammo: Undefined, M995 AP, MK262, MK318 Weight empty: Normal 3.39 Tactical 3.35 Shots to incapacitate: Undefined 2-5 M995 AP 5-7 MK262 2-6 MK318 5-10 Pros: Sounds Loud Bullpup Looks cool Cons: Not that effective Tar Is better Whilst the F2000 looks good, it's performance does not match its appearance. The rounds feel weak and it's no different to any other bullpup in handling. There is no distinctive feature that could make me recommend the F2000. Arma is strange sometimes, but this isn't one of those times, and I've spent enough time retesting. Avoid. M16A4 (The FNG Gun) The fourth generation of the M16 family of assault rifles, of which most modern assault rifles are based. Ammo: MK318, MK262, M855a1, M8856a1, Undefined, EPR, SOST, SPR, IR-Dim, Subsonic Single and three round Burst Weight empty: 3.39 Shots to incapacitate: Undefined 1-3 Arma 2-9 EPR 2-4 Close Range 7 SOST 2-5 SPR 1-3 Subsonic 20 This rifle comfortably fills what a basic rifleman needs in an assault rifle. Accurate long-range fire with a decent performance against armoured targets. Controllable weight and light magazines combined with burst fire make this a good CQC weapon. Some users may find the burst inadequate compared to full auto, in the case of the M16 this is not a problem as the recoil is very controllable and a double tap will kill anything up close. If you let the weapon rise, however, the first round will hit in the sternum, the third will hit his face. If you have a completely new player, give him this weapon and the M150 RCO with red dot. Actually if you an advanced player take the same loadout as the gun preforms well at long range. Pros: Light rifle and magazines Controllable Accurate Simple Burst good for range with bipod Go to Weapon Cons: Not super effective against heavy armour Big No full Auto Burst has a limited effective range without bipod Front Sight Obscures some scopes M27 IAR Built by Heckler and Koch as a replacement to the M249 for US marines in urban settings. Note: For the purpose of this guide HK includes anything with the HK tag. This is also technically a Machine gun, I do not care. Ammo: MK318, MK262, M855a1, M8856a1, Undefined, EPR, SOST, SPR, IR-Dim, Subsonic Single and Full Auto Weight empty: 3.58 Shots to incapacitate: Undefined 1-3 Arma 1-5 EPR 1-4 Close Range 7 SOST 2-5 SPR 1-3 A good substitute for the M16A4 If you want Full auto fire in a CQC environment. Decent assault rifle both in close and at medium range. Recoil is very verticle just like the M16 so controllable and deadly if let go. The latter is not recommended as the m27 has practically no recoil and it will take a magazine to drift to the face. During testing, the gun jammed when firing full auto through a clip. Retested and as long as you don't burn through magazines quickly it's fine. I say this because it's technically an LMG so be careful on overheating Pros: Light Rifle and magazines Little Recoil Controllable Simple Actually an alright LMG Cons: Very Generic Unreliable An LMG M4 Carbine A shorter, lighter version of the M16A2. Replacing the M16 in most US military roles Ammo: MK318, MK262, M855a1, M8856a1, Undefined, EPR, SOST, SPR, IR-Dim, Subsonic Single and Burst Weight empty: 3.3 Shots to incapacitate: Undefined 2-5 Arma 2-6 EPR 2-5 SOST 2-4 SPR 1-3 A smaller lighter version of the M16. Feels the same for the most part. Climbs a little less and is better in close Due to Size Pros: Light rifle and magazines Controllable Accurate Simple Cons: No full Auto Burst has a limited effective range without bipod Front Sight Obscures some scopes Bipod is weird Generic M4A1 and PIP An improvement of the original M4 to be more reliable and featuring full auto Ammo: MK318, MK262, M855a1, M8856a1, Undefined, EPR, SOST, SPR, IR-Dim, Subsonic Single and Full Weight empty: 2.88 Shots to incapacitate: Undefined 2-5 Arma 2-7 EPR 4-5 SOST 3-5 SPR 1-2 Lighter than the M4 with full auto. Little other changes besides that. Feels much the same and has the same front post issues. Very accurate full auto fire. The PIP is identicle for some strange reason. M4A1 Block 2 The Block 2 is the second-generation of SOPMOD kit, developed by USSOCOM that allows Special Operations personnel under its jurisdiction, to configure their weapons to individual preferences and mission specific requirements. (Kudos to mulletshock) Ammo: MK318, MK262, M855a1, M8856a1, Undefined, EPR, SOST, SPR, IR-Dim, Subsonic Single and Full Weight empty: 3.06 Shots to incapacitate: Undefined 2 Arma 3-5 EPR 4-8 SOST 3-8 SPR 3-5 Heavier than the A1 but without the front post issues. Less damage better CQC performance. Only recommended if you are using an open optic. Generally avoid this gun. MK 18 MOD 0 (Go To) The Mk18 mod was developed by the US Navy for Ship boarding, use around vehicles, tight spaces, and also close protection for VIP's; allowing users to have a SMG sized gun but the stopping power of a rifle caliber. It ended up getting adopted by Seals and MARSOC, though DEVGRU(seal team Six) later moved to the HK M416. (Kudos to mulletshock) Ammo: MK318, MK262, M855a1, M8856a1, Undefined, EPR, SOST, SPR, IR-Dim, Subsonic Single and Full Weight empty: 2.7 Shots to incapacitate: Undefined 5 Arma 4-5 EPR 4-6 SOST 4 SPR 4 *Eyes gun suspiciously. Eyes update. Swears. Tests. Relief* This gun is strangely consistent compared to the rest of the 5.56 weapons which are oddly erratic in how damage works. I like this weapon. It is super smooth in CQC, effective at range and has the nicer barrel of the Block 2 whilst not being utterly shit. If you need a weapon for close to medium range, then this is your go to. Oh and it's one of the few guns where I could accurately shoot past 500m Pros: Tacticool colours Controllable Accurate Simple Go to weapon Cons: Looks like a smaller version of the M4A1 Block 2 Consistency (Well I've got to have something) The 'I'm Sick of doing M4's' section The reason for this is to save time on guns that are functionally identical and hardly ever get used because they are functionally identical to the ones I have already tested. Though they do sound better. If you ever find yourself using these other the other variants then comment a picture of you using it and I will happily flesh out this section. Till then It's a short comment on how the gun handles. Colt Carbine Looks weird with the RIS on top of the carry handle. Large profile sounds chunkier. If you want to look silly go for it. Colt M4 Carbine A visually different variant of the M4A1. Sounds chunkier. Preforms the same. Colt M4 Carbine CQBAs above. Shorter and lighter version. Good in CQC, not as good as the M18 Mod 0 but good none the less. Assault Rifles AR15 A civilian version of the M16 heavily modified to look Fking cool. (Probably wrong) Ammo: MK318, MK262, M855a1, M8856a1, Undefined, EPR, SOST, SPR, IR-Dim, Subsonic Single and Full Weight empty: 2.59 Shots to incapacitate: Undefined 4-9 (Avoid) Arma 3-4 EPR 2-4 SOST 1-3 SPR 1-3 Pros: Two Really Cool looking options Sounds good Light Controllable Cons: No Bipod meh The AR15 is defiantly a very cool looking gun. It's quite deadly but nothing really stands out about it in terms of handling. BCM 'Jack' Carbine (Go to) (Side Note:The last too guns pull really far left and I think it's the range. Also aim for the hands that's the weak point) *Shrugs* It's a custom AR clone. Ammo: MK318, MK262, M855a1, M8856a1, Undefined, EPR, SOST, SPR, IR-Dim, Subsonic Single and Full Weight empty: 2.63 Shots to incapacitate: 1-3 All Pros: Sounds good Light Controllable Consistently Deadly Go to Surprisingly Awesome Cons: Generic A very surprising weapon actually. I was expecting another generic M4 modification ( There are about 41 M4 variants ) however it's incredibly powerful and accurate. It's disappointing that it's very generic and I find it hard to like the weapon even on how amazing it is. I definitely recommend it. Colt Carbine Looks stupid, is stupid. Not even going to bother with writing this one down, it is appalling. Colt M4 Another M4 clone... *sigh* if anyone uses it tell me. Colt M4 CQB As above RRA LAR-15 Rock River Arms custom version of the AR15 receiver chambered in 5.56 Ammo: MK318, MK262, M855a1, M8856a1, Undefined, EPR, SOST, SPR, IR-Dim, Subsonic Single and three round Burst Weight empty: 4.08 Shots to incapacitate: Undefined 3-4 Arma 6 EPR 5-6 SOST 5-6 SPR 4-8 This was the first rifle recommended to me. I was told that it was exceptional at range. The damage is horrible for this weapon against the heavy armour. However, it is incredibly accurate, so aim for the face. Aside from that it's not that good a gun. Pros: Accurate Simple Long Range Built in Bipod Cons: Not good against body armour Heavy Slow AUG The Steyr AUG is an Austrian made assault rifle chambered in 5.56, designed in the 1960’s to replace the StG58 Personal Note: If anyone chooses the A1 I will eat my helmet. If ever there was a gun that had too many variants this is it *glares at M4* well one of them. 9mm and Hbar are obsolete and never used. SR can be removed by modding single fire onto the A2 and A3, because not having single fire is stupid. Yes the AUG doesn't have a fire selector, but a solder doesn't have network lag when trying to fire a single ranged shot. SR Ammo: EPR, SOST, SPR, IR-Dim, Tracer Single Weight empty: 3.27 2.99 Carbine Shots to incapacitate: EPR 1-4 SOST 3-5 SPR 1-5 Functionally these guns are identical. Arma does simulate the difference between Carbine and Normal Barrels however due to more testing then I care to admit too there is functionally no difference for your basic infantry. So go for the carbine version. Pros: Accurate Bullpup Light for a Bullpup Cool Ironsights Cons: Bullpup Slightly heavy No Bipod A2 Exactly the same as the SR but full auto. The full auto is worse than it sounds because even without server lag it was hard to single shot only. Probably go for the A3 as it feels better CQC. A3 Ammo: EPR, SOST, SPR, IR-Dim, Tracer Full Weight empty: 3.45 Shots to incapacitate: EPR 1-3 SOST 2-5 SPR 1-4 You won't be using this gun for range shots. You can try, you poor ignorant sod. It is uncontrollable in the best of situations and completely ineffective past 200 meters Pros: Bullpup Stylish Cons: Bullpup Heavy Not very good SA80Britsh family of bullpup 5.56 rifles. L119A1 AKA Colt Canada C7 or Diemaco C8 used by British Special forces such as the SAS and SBS Ammo: BAF Magazine, Undefined Single and Full Weight empty: 3.81 Shots to incapacitate: BAF 2-3 Undefined 2-3 Pros: Accurate Simple Pretty Good Cons: Heavy Is Canadian Not very Tacticool (no attachments) Nothing special L119A1 CQB Literally Identical L119A1 With front Grip All Hail the Mighty Grip Pod! (more Tacticool but literally identical.) L22 Carbine Version of the SA80 Ammo: BAF Magazine, Undefined Single and Full Weight empty: 3.27 Shots to incapacitate: 6-9 Pros: Accurate Simple Pretty Good Small Bullpup Cons: Heavy Non Tacticool Varient Nothing special Bullpup Poor Stopping Power Limits FOV L22A2 All Hail the Mighty Grip Pod! L85A2 Ammo: BAF Magazine, Undefined Single and Full Weight empty: 3.81 Shots to incapacitate: 2-5 Pros: Accurate Simple Pretty Good Bullpup British Cons: Heavy Non Tacticool Variant Nothing special Bullpup Poor Stopping Power Limits FOV L85A2 AFG It's got rails and an Angled Fore Grip L85A2 EMAG *Shrug* A different Magazine L85A2 RIS All Hail the Mighty Grip Pod! L86A2 Light Support Weapon, heavier and longer barrel. Rita
HK Weapons AKA: I've highly overestimated the size of the HK 5.56 arsenal, best do 7.62 as well. HK416 D10 The Heckler & Koch HK416 is an assault rifle/carbine designed and manufactured by Heckler & Koch. It is based on the AR-15 class of weapons, and was originally conceived as an improvement based on the Colt M4 carbine family issued to the U.S. military, with the notable inclusion of an HK-proprietary short-stroke gas piston system derived from the Heckler & Koch G36 assault rifle. Ammo: MK318, MK262, M855a1, M8856a1, Undefined, EPR, SOST, SPR, IR-Dim, Subsonic Single and Full Weight empty: 3.3 Shots to incapacitate: Undefined 4-6 Arma 2-4 EPR 5-6 SOST 5-6 SPR 4-8 Pros: Accurate Simple Long Range Nice Ironsights Cons: *shrug* FML Everything I just did got wiped. HK416 D14.5 The long barrel version, more accurate at range. More weight G36 The G36 is a 5.56×45mm assault rifle, designed in the early 1990s by Heckler & Koch in Germany as a replacement for the heavier 7.62mm G3 battle rifle. It was accepted into service with the Bundeswehr in 1997, replacing the G3. The G36 is gas-operated and feeds from a 30-round detachable box magazine or 100-round C-Mag drum magazine. Ammo: G36 SOST, SPR, EPR A2 and E Single and Full Weight empty: 3.31 or 3.62 with non default scope Shots to incapacitate: EPR 3-4 SOST 1-3 SPR 2-3 (6-8 Close) Pros: Accurate Simple Long Range Awesome Scope (suggest 2D) Transparent Mag Cons: Heavy Big Takes time to get used to C and CV Single, 2-Round burst, Full Weight empty: 2.54 Shots to incapacitate: EPR 3-5 SOST 1-6 SPR 1-4 Pros: Accurate Simple Compact Light Transparent Mag Cons: Lacks Bipod Poor Stopping Power K(KSK) Single and Full Weight empty: 2.72 Shots to incapacitate: EPR 2-6 SOST 2-6 SPR 1-4 Pros: Accurate Simple Bipod Options Light Transparent Mag Cons: Looks Weird Poor Stopping power K and KE Single and Full Weight empty: 3.13 Shots to incapacitate: EPR 1-5 SOST 2-5 SPR 1-3 (6-8 Close) Pros: Accurate Simple Long Range Awesome Scope (suggest 2D) Transparent Mag Slightly Smaller than the A2 Cons: Big Takes time to get used to V is the variant with all the rails if you want a unique (arma) bipod aside from that there is no difference. G3 G3KA4 (Go To) The smallest version of the G3 family, featuring a folding stock and shorter barrel. Our version having RIS as standard. Used by the Navy Seals during Vietnam and still used by the SAS, Royal Marines, and Royal Military Police (Neat) Ammo: EPR, Mk316(long range), MK319(shoots through cover) Single and Full Weight empty: 3.72 Magazine 0.59 Shots to incapacitate: EPR 2-6 Better at range M316 1-2 MK319 1-3 Does go through minor cover Pros: A cannon Accurate Little drop off Light for a 7.62 HK Slap Go To Cons: 20 round magazine Heavy in general Apparently poor past 500m Image disappears with bipod (Shrug) Tip: Up to 500m aim slightly lower than the scopes sighting. use the SU230A (The 7.62 version) Past 500m do what the scope says. As with most 7.62 rifles damage up close is poor due to over penetration. At range it kills very quickly. Say... 200meters plus. It takes some getting used to with the small capacity magazines, I recommend reloading after every engagement. Generally takes a while to get used to, it is very accurate, more so than any gun so far. This is my preference when the mission requires no special equipment and then I work as a faux Designated Marksman. Definitely take it if you want a 7.62, but learn to aim. Rita
Battle Rifles AKA: Big Bada Boom Section Battle Rifles includes anything chambered in 7.62 calibre. Technically some of these are PDW I am ignoring that for the moment because all other PDW's can not be used by basic infantry. Special thanks to SuddenDeath for assistance with this section. Stgw.57(7.5x55) The Sturmgewehr 57 is a battle rifle made in Switzerland. Ammo: FMJ, AP, Tracer Single and Fully Automatic Weight Empty: Commando 3.4 Standard 4.04 Magazine Weight: 0.64 Shots to incapacitate: 1-3 AP 4-5 Close 1-2 Far This is quite an advanced battle rifle. Controlled full auto fire is completely out of the question. However, in the hands of an experienced user, the STGW.57 is a formidable weapon capable of engaging at long range. The AP rounds tend to over penetrate at close range but is more effective at long range and taking down lightly armoured vehicles and helicopters. Pros: Sounds like a cannon Accurate long range fire AP rounds Cons: Heavy magazines Best for advanced rifleman 24 round magazine AAC 'Honey Badger' (.300 BLK) American made PDW with an integrated suppressor. Ammo: .300 BLK FMJ, Tracers, Subsonic Weight Empty: 2.13kg Magazine weight: .73kg Shots to incapacitate: 2-5 for all ammo types between 0-500 The AAC 'Honey Badger' is a silent beast, managing to match the Assault Rifles and Carbines in effective range and damage while also being lightweight enough to be effective in CQB situations. It's subsonic ammo far outperforms other subsonic ammo, and can match (even surpass) the standard .300 BLK at 500m. However the .300 ammo limits it's resupply capabilities as it is a non-standard type. Pros: Lightweight Integrated Suppressor Deadly Subsonic Ammo Consistent Damage Doesn't make a loud boom when fired Cons: Doesn't make a loud boom when fired Non-standard ammunition Weak at Range due to suppressor. CAL C1A1 Canadian variant of the British L1A1. Ammo: 7.62x51mm NATO Ball EPR, MK.316, MK.319, Tracers, IR-DIMs, Subsonic Weight Empty: 4.13kg Magazine Weight: 1.81kg Shots to incapacitate: 2-3 shots for all but MK.316 which can one hit kill with chest shots. All ammo types can kill, or mortally wound with headshots at 0-500m, including subsonic. The C1A1 is a precise, heavy, death dealing machine in any combat situation, although technically the variant in game is just the C1 as it is not capable of automatic fire. Not that you would want it to as the kick on this thing is fairly large. Lacking a picatinny sight it is stuck with a night vision sight, and the terrible SUIT sight; which has a metal prong sticking down from the top with no ranging numbers on it, effectively blocking the top of your sight. Pros: Loud Accurate Incredibly lethal Is Canadian Cons: Heavy gun and magazines Loud Semi-automatic only No picatinny rail, only has 2 sights, 1 night vision and one SUIT 20 round magazines Is Canadian Edited April 19, 2017 by JamieT06

That’s wrong. Arma magically gives every gun a bipod deployment mode and the under barrel makes no difference as far as testing goes. Save some weight and don’t bother. Whenever I say Bipod in this guide, I will be referring to bipod mode. As far as I am aware, you don't "Magically" get a bi-pod. You lean on your elbow to steady your weapon which I believe works essentially the same as a bi-pod... I expect there is SOME difference between elbow vs bi-pod but I can guarantee the differences are negligible I really like this guide so keep it up

Oh and it's one of the few guns where I could accurately shoot past 500m Pros: Tacticool colours Controllable Accurate Simple Go to weapon Cons: Looks like a smaller version of the M4A1 Block 2 Consistency (Well I've got to have something) Just want to point out a few things here The Mk18 we have is the Mod 1 also both the Mod 0 and Mod 1 where developed by the US Navy for Ship borading, use around Vehicals, tight spaces and also Close protection for VIP's and allowed users to have a SMG sized gun but the stopping power of a rilfe caliber fire arm . It ended up getting adopted by Seals and MARSOC, Though DEVGRU(seal team Six) move to the HK M416 but all the other teams still use the Mk18. Also it only replaced the up receiver of the M4A1 not a hole rilfe. The Block 2 wasn't a redesign of the M4A1 at all it was the second-generation of SOPMOD kit's developed by US-SOCOM that allow's Special Operations personnel under it's jurisdiction, to configure their weapons to individual preferences and mission specific requirements. May be a bit higher on the bipod but unless you are sniping it makes no difference The main reason I use a bipod is for the exhausted sway. For each of the gifs below, i tried to max my exhaustion to emphasise the effect. No bipod on gun, "Leaning" on a standing size ledge. https://gfycat.com/ScaredAbandonedAmericancrayfish Bipod on gun (not deployed), "leaning" on the same ledge. https://gfycat.com/GiddyDistantKingfisher Bipod on gun, deployed on the same ledge. https://gfycat.com/CarefulHalfBoutu (Apologies for the right flick at the start. the side-to-side sway is bipod though) As I concluded, deploying a bipod makes a large difference while exhausted, but little to none when not (I have the gifs if you wish).
