++++++++++++++++BEGIN MESSAGE++++++++++++++++
I. BACKGROUND
For the first time in the nine-year war, the US military is sending heavy armor to Afghanistan, defense officials state, a shift that signals a further
escalation in the more aggressive tactics that have been employed to attack the Taliban.
FK COY has joined forces at Camp Branca but suffered heavy losses during operation ERYMANTHIAN BOAR I. Damage report lists the loss of two Bradleys
and one M1A2 TUSK II. Internal investigation has resulted in the withdrawal of the acting EOD team as well as Alpha Squad Lead; these positions will
be replaced by adequate personnel.
Operation ERYMANTHIAN BOAR I.bis was a succes, carried out by the Special Operations Group (SOG). A department of the CIA responsible for operations that
include high-threat military or covert operations with which the US government does not wish to be overtly associated. Their actions resulted in the
destruction of an IED factory and a recruitment facility in a local mosque, eradicating most hostile forces in AO EB1. This sector is now deemed secure.
The accomplishments of SOG have pleased USCENTCOM. They remain boots on the ground to assist FK COY as Echo squad.
II. SITUATION
We are now focusing on pushing back the Taliban forces on their home turf. Our presence on Afghan soil has split the civilian population in two opposing sides.
Multiple rural towns have been receiving US funded supplies, and in return they serve as our eyes and ears to ensure our friendly troops in
CAMP KINNO and CAMP MIKE are not ambushed or over run.
Taliban forces have sieged two US friendly towns, cutting of our MSR to and from CAMP KINNO and CAMP MIKE.
Our supplies are running low, and USCENTCOM has ordered the restoration of the MSR before shipping new ammunition and vital components
to repair our damaged assets. To make matters worse, we're on the clock as we have to secure both objectives in time if we want to get back to base before nightfall.
