Al Kut, Iraq

The invasion of Iraq is stalling. The city of Al Kut is holding up most of 1 Mar Div. General Mattis requires us to seize this town from a motivated and dug in Republican Guard force as a demonstration of American Military Superiority. 

The preparatory bombardment was cancelled due to heavy sandstorms throughout the region, and the General doesn't want to waste anymore time with this city. You have been ordered in to seize and secure key points within the city.

BRIEFING :

Leading elements of RCT1 are pushing North from friendly lines to engage and destroy all Iraqi Republican Guard forces within the city of Al Kut. 5 locations are to be seized and secured. The Republican Guard HQ; the Mosque; the Airfield; the Minister's Villa & the Republican Guard Base north of the city. High level recon has spotted entrenched T-72s and BMPs within the city. This information is 40 hours old, and no reconnaissance has been achieved since that time.

SOP for this Op BASEPLATE

• The city is believed to be clear of civilians, but we are not certain. Return Fire Only.
• Damage to civilian infrastructure to be minimised. Do Not Destroy Civilian Buildings.
• The Mosque is to be left intact. No HE/AP/AT To Be Fired At The Mosque AT ALL. If it is destroyed, the popular war will already be lost.
