Drastic mod changelog

MNP Flecktarn is not actual Flecktarn. Some of those NIArms guns are considerably better than the RHS versions, often by being light enough to make a role playable in the first place. The Strike Eagle is essentially a bomber which doesn't fit ArmA, both in terms of scale and in terms of mechanics. Et cetera. And, without actually looking at the numbers, aren't the biggest file size changes here those recently added maps?

Agree with this 100%. Unless there's a mix of mods that is causing the desync problems, or it's just the steam workshop causing problems, it'd be a good idea to try A3Sync again and see if Steam Workshop was the problem. IIRC we have about the same number of mods now as we did in A3Sync, but don't quote me on that.

I'm fine with most of the removed stuff except for the NIArms, Advanced Towing, Napf, Hazar-Khot, PLA, and the Firewill planes. Like you said, there's no place for F-15s as they're for BVR combat, the F-16 and A-10 are more suited for our style of missions.

The best part is that people complain about Clafghan because it causes CTDs, but we keep that and remove mods that work perfectly fine.

A few weeks ago Mavy came to us(the CM Team) and told us we needed to remove mods due to server performance. We have spent those weeks trying to work out what we should remove and it was going no where and we need to sort out what we wanted removing soon. In the end the decision was made based on a few factors some of these being, not used that often or only have one mission use out of them(Maps) or straight up don't really work for a Zeus mission.

The decision to remove some of the NIarms, the A-10 and F-16 mods, yes in part down to the fact that some of the weapons in NIarms and the a-10 are in other mod's, the fact is this mods share the weapons and a-10  with RHS which offers us alot more in mission options then what NIarms and a-10 mods do. The Minimi's being removed is partly down to me as I put it the the other CM's that we didn't need 20+ Bluefor LMG/MMG's when no more than 5 people in the platoon will use that type of gun. The F-16 was removed as we felt 1 CAS Jet is enough.

As for Clafghan as far as I know we are not aware of it not working properly and would need to look in to it. 

As Neil said the mod changes have been made as we need a drastic cut down in mods due the performance issues. Its all good have loads of mods and plenty of options to create missions for people but if half those people can't actually play the mission due to Performance their not going to enjoy that mission.

Are you guys sure this hasn't already been done? A lot said stuff has already gone missing from the server. PLA, f-16, A-10.

No it hasn't, only the second server has this new modset at the moment. First server still has the current modset.

First server was already missing those mods yesterday.

It's true, I just checked Zeus of the main server and every mod in the removed list has gone missing. BW, A-10, F-16, Challenger, Ammo boxes for Niarms and TF47, PLA, hoverboard and I presume the maps have been removed as well which would explain the failed loading of maps.

Are you still loading all those mods though?

As for the maps failing to load, that was a temporary thing which we still don't know the cause of. It worked fine 2 days ago, so it has nothing to do with the changed modset. None of the settings for loading the mods on the main server or the second server have been changed since then either.

Yes, @Judgeman couldn't see them either.

Ehh sacrifices have to be made I guess. I don't envy the CM team having to cannibalise the server. But I can totally see why it needs doing, there's no end to the performance issues recently although from my perspective all these problems started when the Laws of War update was released. If the removal of the mods improves the performance then great, we shall sing songs for the sacrificed mods, especially ACR's

Awwwww, F-16 is really nice, plus the CAS variant of the F-15 is a double seater.

We did Clafghan yesterday and people started memleaking before the mission even started.

So the new mod count is 71-35=36

(Just a reminder to check when launching arma)

I was upset about NIarms, then I realised it was only a partial removal and I still get my G36s. I will be sad to see the challenger disappear, I'll have to edit some of my planned missions but I think this will be a healthy change of pace.

I'm sad that the BWMod is going away: the stuff that added was marvelous to me (even if the gun sounds were not too enjoyable, almost a pea-shooter..)
